Mine on Monday | New backdrops!

I was so excited when I went into Joann's this week and found this bag fabric that is new and comes in different prints. It's stiffer then normal fabric and super lightweight and I immediately thought it would work great as a back drop. 2 yards was a perfect amount, it's extra wide so a 2 yard pieces is roughly 4' x 6' and there is only one crease down the middle that I'm hoping will just iron out.

It's only 2.99/yard and I used a 40% off coupon which made it the cheapest backdrop ever!

I was hoping to use my mother's day card to get her to pose for me, but she really isn't in the mood these days!

I also like the fact that it's somewhat wipe-able as it's not regular cotton fabric!

What a delight it was to take these newborn photos today as this little girl slept like a charm!

I somehow got them all edited today as I wanted something to share in time for Mother's Day!

Today she ran a half marathon! Something I could never do! Congratulations Erin!

 This might have been just a practice shot, but I really liked the quiet and strong confidence

I was really excited when I got asked to take some prom photos this weekend - It's been a really long time since I had done any so it was nice to do something new!

It was amazing what cool spots I could find in my own neighborhood!

Mine on Mondays | Tap/Ballet Class

Aubrey started her first Tap/Ballet class this weekend. She had taken a ballet class last year but it was only for 5 weeks and she was a little too shy. We thought it was time to try it again, and although she was shy at first, she seems to be enjoying herself.

 I call this the shy shoulder

She needed a little hand holding, but after I left the room her shyness seemed to disappear!

Mine on Mondays | Happy Easter!

I ran out of time this Easter - I spent too much time making cookies, decorating eggs and shopping that I almost didn't take any Easter photos. I wasn't prepared and didn't have any clever photo ideas, but I think I made due! I'm not a huge fan of too many props (I like props that look natural and suite the setting) so I just used what I had for these Easter themed photos.

 Her own egg she decorated (tip: put paper grocery bags through your paper shredder to make instant nest and bucket filling!).

We don't have a farm or live close to one so the garage was the next best thing!

Yup, I made her sit in a bucket - I just wanted to see if she could!
